Welcome to Mukashi Mukashi.
Two girls, Mitsuki and Michiko, are sent to do detention work in the main library, a huge place of dust, paper, and not much excitement. As one can imagine, neither are too happy about the situation.
Bored witless, they come across one newly donated book among many others, all of which have recently been given by a mysterious philantropist.
It was after that casual discovery that both girls find themselves in a fairy tale with a lethal twist, and a history that they would have to solve if they ever wish to afford spending a normal day, one without almost getting killed, ever again.
So then this is, obviously, not exactly a fairy tale.

MUKASHI MUKASHI IS BACK!
For the past year, Micah and I have been on a long hiatus because of our theses. But since we're now done, and more or less free, we have decided to continue this humble manga of ours.
Truth be told, I've been working on the pages of Mukashi Mukashi althroughout the year, whenever I had the time. By that I mean that when I feel that I have an itch to draw manga, I do so. So in the past year, I've accumulated a large number of pages that I hope to post while it's summer here in the Philippines.
Also, because my thesis mentor said that Mukashi Mukashi has potential (a genius literary writer said this! So that's another reason to read Mukashi Mukashi, yo!), Micah and I have decided to keep at it. At the moment we're devising a way on how to systematically write the story because, if you've seen the character poster, there are a LOT of characters so there is a LOT of story to write.
You're advantage as the reader though is that you don't have to worry about all this! If anything, what you will have to do is...wait. xD
Also, because my computer has been reformatted during the year, I have to make a new way of screentoning. I studied a couple of other manga during the year as well and I decided not to tone hair anymore unless absolutely necessary. Truth is, it's so HARD! I'm going to keep at it. Don't worry!

Hi all!
I updated with two pages today! Pages 4 and 5! I've even bought a new sketch pad to dedicate to Mukashi Mukashi manga pages. It's huge! But I didn't want to go around looking anymore. I'm picky about this sketch pad so even if its bigger than the one I used to make the first 4 pages (and the character grid) I'll make due.
I want to keep drawing and making these pages, but I'm now thinking of how to deal with the whole "Mitsuki is black-haired" issue. The problem with her is that since her hair is black its hard to make any movement or flow obvious. I'd need to rework her hair and be really detailed about it when I draw it, unlike Michiko's because her hair color is lighter in comparison. I've looked at other manga with black-haired characters and they all seem to make use of high lights to deal with the movement problem. That mean's I'm really going to have to be more particular about Mitsuki's hair. Either that or I somehow find a way to dye her hair blonde for the rest of the manga. xD
I'm actually tempted by this. hahahahha! All the characters I've ever created are usually dark haired or black-haired!

Aaah, the challenge for me, a mere pin-up artist!
I have a big trouble in consistency and in keeping interest in drawing things for too long. I tend to want to do things quickly lest I put them off and never work on it again.
Or it may be because I'm afraid which is the reason, for example, that I haven't finished my one and only group picture for my novel...because I'm scared to mess up...on the *sketch*. So, what does that say about the progress of Mukashi Mukashi?
Hopefully, nothing! Because I'm going to kick myself to work on it. Pardon the possible, ass-yness (pardon the French) of the first few pages because it will be a display of my impatience and progress.
I really should tell Micah how to manage this site as well. Hahahaha!

Finally!
Hey everyone! I'm so sorry this took SO SO SO long. But I've finally gotten over my grief! And before I fell back into it I made sure I finished this all as fast as I could!
I worked on it for three whole days but couldn't upload it on the same day I finished it because we had no internet DSL connection!
It sucked BIG time having finished this but not being able to connect, like a sick and ironic joke, but its all good now! :D
Of course, this is not on the main story yet. This is really a cast/character sheet, if you will of all the characters which you will all find out who is who as the story progresses! Some might be more obvious than others though! :D
Horray and good luck to me in starting the manga! I'm excited because I can actually use my manga software! WOOHOO!!

The last update was almost a YEAR AGO. Gahjeez.
To be honest, Mukashi Mukashi has been put off for a while. It's mostly my fault since I was supposed to upload a poster of sorts a year ago but then an unfortunate mishap left me posterless and in grief. I wanted to work on a new poster or re-create the old one soon but I guess I just never got over it. I'm one who believes that a single great work can never be repeated or replicated. And I guess, although the story is actually pretty much in order with the meat and very very gritty details missing, we already know where we're going and all we need is to, oh, i don't know, make the manga. xD
I, myself, have been working on my novel since summer started. That, too, was on hold for quite a while as I didn't spend as much alone time as I was able to when I was in an adrenaline rush for it as I was before. I've regained vigor for finishing it and I know where I'm going to. That and painting, finally learning to drive, reading 2 more Meyer books, 15 volumes of Hanakimi (for future reference, mayhaps) and watching all my stocked up jdoramas for the summer, I will find time for Mukashi Mukashi.
Please don't expect anything. I realize, I'm not really one to be trusted with such big promises, so let's just hope I get the inspiration for it right?!
I'll redo the intro page at the very least though because I find the text hard to read. :D

Sorry that it's been taking forever to upload anything. I swear I was going to update with a poster, but alas, fate was not kind and swiped it from me when I lost it. Buu, I said... no, actually I screamed when I lost it. In any case, Micah and I are working very hard to bring it to you. We are working on it in prose form before translating it into comics so that the plot would be fixed. So please, we hope to update soon. Thank you!
